The Rottweiler definitely knows their own mind and needs firm training but when raised with love and patience, they make an obedient companion. One who is both tranquil and affectionate.

They are a serious dog, who all too often, is bought and ill trained by novice dog owners. Rottweiler owners should be experienced with dogs and be dedicated enough to ensure proper training, socialization and exercise for this dog’s entire life. This is an extremely intelligent dog, who with firm but fair training can easily become a good reliable canine citizen. They are very biddable and eager to work.

The irresponsibility of humans has been the downfall of the Rottweiler not the Rottweiler himself. When raised properly the Rottweiler is a calm quiet good-natured dog, full of love and very loyal to their family. They can be rather standoffish with strangers and does not make friends with just anybody. They are alert and courageous and able to make their own decisions when needed, making them an excellent and reliable home guardian.

The Viszla is a hard working breed, capable of tracking, pointing and retrieving, obviously not a dog for the idle. Too little exercise and too much alone time can make them hyperactive and destructive and even prone to obsessive-compulsive behaviours. They need to be worked, both mentally and physically. Perspective owners should be at least moderately experienced with dogs and ready to keep up to this guys high energy and exercise needs. They are very intelligent and though they can be a trifle stubborn and at time easily distracted, they are quite easy to train. Training should be firm but fair, never harsh or rough. Some can be a little sensitive or excitable so socialization with a variety of different situations, environments and people from an early age is very important.

With their family the Viszla is loving and affectionate, they are very loyal and tend to form close bonds with their humans. They are protective and fearless and make a good home guardian. They are usually quiet dogs, very good mannered, not given to unnecessary barking, some can be hard to housebreak and some chew a lot.

CHILDREN: The Viszla is good with children of all ages.

This beautiful charming dog looks upon the world as something to be enjoyed and needs a family with a similar attitude. They are very intelligent and have quite the sense of humour, which they usually show by being a little mischievous. Training should be firm but fair. They are energetic and independent and can be a trifle stubborn. However, with a little effort, can become a well-manned reliable canine citizen. The Samoyed is best suited for someone with at least some experience with dogs.

These friendly dogs really cannot be counted as a good guard dogs but they do make a fine barking watchdog. They will happily let you know when anything is afoot. They can be a real barker, so owners who would like a quiet dog should enforce strict barking rules from day one. It is important to keep this active dog well exercised and busy, a bored Samoyed is far more prone to bark, dig and chew. They are also very pack oriented and do not take well to being alone for long periods of time, a lonely Samoyed can be very noisy and destructive.

They can be hard to housebreak and some can be notorious leash pullers.

Placid and peaceful, loyal and affectionate, the Neapolitan Mastiff makes an excellent addition to any home that has the experience, energy and devotion to match theirs. Though they are usually quite laid back and not given to aggression, owning this awesome dog is a big responsibility. Improper training, lack of socialization and insufficient exercise could make them unpredictable and even aggressive. They need an experienced pack leader who will train them firmly but fairly, never heavy handed and will see that their training, socialization and exercise needs are meant for their entire life. Those willing to make this commitment will be rewarded with a friend who offers undying loyalty and love.

The Neapolitan Mastiff is an extremely quiet dog, they are intelligent and can think fort themselves. They can be very suspicious of strangers and is a courageous fearless protector, who would give their all in defence of his family.

CHILDREN: The Neapolitan Mastiff is good with children, especially when raised with them. However, is probably best for homes with older children as they are a very large dog who doesn‘t always know their own size. Children should never be allowed to walk this strong dog alone, as they could bolt or get into a fight and a child could be seriously hurt. Some believe that the females of the breed make better family pets as they are said to be more docile and sensitive than the males.
